THE CONSEQUENCE AND THE ACT

The materials I used to make my spatial objects are constituted of raw pig skin. Flayed animal skin is, in a certain sense, usually a consequence and a proof of sacrifice. Nevertheless, it has a different metaphorical meaning I intend to use in order to comment on the time I live and create in. An attempt to perceive the relation between life and art: spread out within the blind frame, the skin is meant to picture itself; shaped into a garment and hung on the hanger it impresses one as a piece of clothing; modeled and set to float within the space, it reminds, in a very absurd way, of lightness. With all these, slightly repulsive, objects, I rely on the spectator's awareness of the origin of the materials that have been used to create and shape them. The background of my work is a strong and an utterly brutal act through which I also wish to express my moral and ethical attitudes that warn in a strong manner.
